One fee. $1,997. It does not move with the salary.
Not a percentage. Not a monthly markup. Not a retainer. An agency taking 30–40% of first-year salary earns more the more you pay your hire, and keeps earning every month if it also takes a cut of the salary. We charge the same for a junior seat and a senior one. The search itself costs you nothing: sourcing, all 6 vetting stages, the shortlist and every interview you want to run.
The fee
$1,997
Flat, per hire, whatever the role and whatever the salary.
When you pay
On hire
Nothing to talk to us, nothing to run the search, nothing for the shortlist. No retainer.
Replacements, 90 days
Unlimited
Re-run the search as many times as it takes, from their start date. No cap, no second fee.
What the fee buys, and what it doesn't
Better you read this now than discover it later. The second list is the one most recruiters leave off their pricing page.
Included in the $1,997
- An intake call to scope the role, the level, the hours and the time-zone overlap you need.
- Sourcing across our 100k+ pool in Philippines, Pakistan, South Africa, Kenya, Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Costa Rica, Venezuela and Argentina, plus outreach to people who are not in it yet.
- All 6 vetting stages: English fluency tested in conversation, role-specific skills assessed on the actual tools, work history and references verified, and a culture and communication screen. Roughly the top 1% of applicants reach a client.
- A shortlist within 6–10 business days of that call.
- Unlimited free replacements for 90 days from their start date. We re-run the search as many times as it takes.
- A named account manager for onboarding, rather than a support inbox.
Not included, and never billed
- Payroll, tax, and compliance. We do not run payroll and we are not your employer of record. We recruit, vet and place. You employ and pay the person directly. That is a real part of what keeps the fee this low, and we would rather say it plainly than imply otherwise.
- The salary. It goes from you to the hire. We never touch it and we take no percentage of it, now or later.
- An employment contract. If you want an employer-of-record or a payroll provider, we will point you at ones our clients already use, and we take no referral fee for it.
- Roles outside our lane. We place operations, legal support, marketing, admin and technical seats: web and WordPress developers, full-stack developers, automation specialists, IT support, data analysts and QA testers among them. We do not place anyone whose job requires a US licence to practise, and we work in three industries rather than all of them. Staying narrow is why the vetting is good.
Hiring one paralegal
Traditional agencies charge 30–40% of first-year salary. Here is the same hire, priced both ways, from our published salary figures. Base salary and cost to employ are separate lines, because the agency percentage is charged on the first and not the second.
| Cost item | Bionic Talent | Traditional agency |
|---|---|---|
| Base salary, first year | $15,600from $1,300/mo, paid direct to the hire | $62,892$5,241/mo US median. This is what the agency percentage is charged on. |
| Cost to employ, first year | $15,600the same figure. You employ them directly, so there is no payroll load on top. | $87,960$7,330/mo, being the base above × 1.40 for payroll taxes and benefits |
| Placement fee | $1,997flat, due only on hire | $18,868–$25,15730–40% of first-year salary, so 30% to 40% of the $62,892 base above |
| Year one, all in | $17,597fee plus twelve months of salary | $18,868–$25,157 + $87,960Their fee is a range. Ours is a number. |
US figures are what the seat costs an employer, not what the person is paid: base pay plus payroll taxes and benefits, at the 1.40 times base pay that the US Bureau of Labor Statistics publishes for private-sector employers. Divide by 1.40 to get back to the base salary. The Bionic figure is the salary you pay your hire directly, and it carries none of that load. So the two columns are not the same measure: one is a total cost to employ, the other is a salary. A senior hire costs more in either column, and our fee does not move with them. The 30–40% of first-year salary figure is the range agencies publish; check it against any quote you have in hand.
So what’s the catch?
Fair question. Nothing is hiding in the contract, but the economics are unusual enough to be worth explaining, because “flat $1,997” sounds like a number with a condition attached to it.
A traditional agency charges a share of the salary, so it earns more the more you pay your hire, and with a monthly markup it keeps earning for as long as that person sits in the seat. We charge once. We can do that for three reasons: we recruit in markets where a strong operations, legal support or marketing professional earns a fraction of the US rate; we place at volume into a small number of role types we know well, so each search reuses work we have already done; and we take nothing out of the salary, because you employ the person directly.
The real trade-off is not financial. This is offshore hiring. You will be managing someone in a different time zone who is not down the hall, and that takes more deliberate onboarding, clearer written process, and more intent than a local hire. Most of our clients had never hired offshore before and it worked; some found it wasn’t how they wanted to run their team. Either way, the 90-day unlimited replacement means the money is not what you are risking. Run the whole process, meet the shortlist, decide none of them is right, and you will have spent nothing but your interviewing time.
10 questions, and the catch one goes first.
This sounds too good to be true. What's the catch?
There isn't one, but the economics are worth explaining because the number is genuinely unusual. A traditional agency charges 30–40% of first-year salary and often adds a monthly markup on top, which means they earn more the more you pay your hire. They earn it again every month, forever. We charge $1,997 once, and only if you hire. The search that gets you there costs nothing: sourcing, six stages of vetting, the shortlist, and however many people you decide to interview. We can do that because we recruit from markets where a strong operations or legal support professional earns a fraction of the US rate, we place at volume across a small number of role types we know well, and we don't run payroll or take a cut of the salary. You employ the person directly. The real catch, if you want to call it one, is that this is offshore hiring: you're managing someone in a different time zone, and that takes more intent than hiring down the hall.
How does the 90-day guarantee work?
If a hire isn't the right fit within the first 90 days, we run the search again at no additional cost, as many times as it takes. There's no cap on replacements and no second fee. We can offer that because the cost of re-running a search we've already scoped is low, and because a bad placement costs us more in reputation than it saves us in effort.
When do I actually pay?
Only when you hire someone. The intake call, the sourcing, all six vetting stages, the shortlist and every interview you run cost nothing. There's no retainer and no fee for the search itself. If nobody on the shortlist is right for you, you owe nothing and we keep looking or we part ways. Replacements inside the 90 days are free as well, so the $1,997 covers the search until it works rather than one attempt at it. What you always pay is the salary, and you pay it to the hire directly.
How fast can I hire someone?
You'll have a shortlist within 6–10 business days of the intake call. From that first call to your new hire starting is about 21 days on average. We'd rather quote you the real range than a number that sounds better and then misses.
How do you vet candidates?
Six stages, and roughly the top 1% of applicants make it through to a client. That covers English fluency tested in conversation rather than self-reported, role-specific skills assessment on the actual tools, work-history and reference verification, and a culture and communication screen. The tool proficiency claim on a résumé has to survive an actual test.
What roles do you hire for?
Operations, legal support, marketing, administrative and technical roles, including web developers and software engineers: 50+ role types and 1,200+ placements so far. The real limit is licensure. A practising US attorney, a CPA who signs off on your accounts, a licensed contractor: those seats have to be filled at home, and we'll tell you so rather than sell you a workaround. Where we do stay narrow is the industries, and hiring into the same three over and over is why the vetting is good.
Where are your candidates based?
We recruit in Philippines, Pakistan, South Africa, Kenya, Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Costa Rica, Venezuela and Argentina, a pool of over 100,000 candidates. Everyone is vetted for English proficiency and for the time zone overlap you set at intake. The Latin American markets hold a full eight hours against a US working day; the Philippines and Pakistan hold about four.
Do you handle payroll, taxes, or compliance?
No, and we'd rather say so plainly than imply otherwise. We recruit, vet, and place. You employ and pay the person directly, which is what keeps the cost structure honest. If you need an employer-of-record or a payroll provider, we'll point you at ones our clients already use. We don't take a referral fee for it.
What if I've never hired offshore before?
Most of our clients hadn't. We handle sourcing, vetting, and placement; you interview a shortlist and pick. The 90-day unlimited replacement means the downside of trying is capped at your interviewing time, and you get a named account manager for onboarding rather than a support inbox.
How is this different from hiring on Upwork or a VA marketplace?
A marketplace hands you a search box and leaves the filtering to you. The work is in reading 200 applications, running the assessments, checking the references, and finding out three weeks in whether the person can actually do the job. That's the part we do. And if we get it wrong we do it again for free, which no marketplace offers.
Start the search. Decide later whether to hire.
A short intake call, then a shortlist of people who have already passed six stages of vetting.
About a minute to fill in, then a 30 minute intake call. If nobody on the shortlist is right, we keep looking or we part ways, and you have spent nothing but the interview time.
